Great show but the sound mixing was off!
Normally, the awesome at The Ritz are shows. Everything has been perfect: the sound, the band, the staff, the upstairs VIP lounge, etc. I've seen a few acts there and normally, everything has been perfect.
Something was VERY off with the mixing at this show for both the opening act (Mass Gothic) and Two Door Cinema Club. I could hardly hear the vocals at all - very garbled. Some instruments drowned out the others. I don't think it was part of the show.
I'm not sure what happened, but the show was great otherwise. Two Door Cinema Club crew tried to make adjustments throughout the show but finally just gave up and went with it. I just wish the sound mixing had been on point. I mean, I saw Flogging Molly here (very loud act with a lot going on), and the sound was fine.
